Working-day boundaries, explained
Your schedule determines what counts. Endpoint choices determine where counting starts and stops.
Half-open is the default
Count between dates includes the start and excludes the end by default. Same date is zero. Including both endpoints counts a working same-date range once.
Add working dates after the start
Friday plus one Monday–Friday working day is Monday. Mark Monday closed and the answer becomes Tuesday. A zero addition keeps the original date.
Hours need open intervals
Working hours intersect the requested range with each dated open interval. For a 09–12 / 13–17 schedule, 11:30 to 12:15 counts 30 minutes. A full lunch break is not subtracted from every touched day.
