About TrueHour

Updated

TrueHour publishes free browser tools for calculating hours, working with dates, comparing pay schedules, and planning across time zones. It is built for people checking a shift, organizing a meeting, or trying to understand a time calculation without creating an account.

The site brings together 22 calculators and planners. Each tool includes its calculation method, worked examples, and the assumptions that can change an answer. You can use the calculator immediately, then read the explanation when you need to check why a result looks different from your expectation.

What the tools can help you check

Hours between two clock readings, hours between dated events, and working hours inside a schedule are different questions. TrueHour separates those cases and makes choices such as overnight shifts, unpaid breaks, and daylight-saving transitions explicit.

The pay tools compare gross amounts using the rates and schedules you enter. They do not calculate take-home pay, decide overtime eligibility, or apply an employer’s PTO policy automatically. A salary equivalent is arithmetic, not a promise about an employment arrangement.

How the site is made and checked

TrueHour’s software and explanatory content are developed with AI assistance. The explanations are written around the behavior of these calculators, including cases where an input is rejected or needs an explicit choice. Calculations use programmed arithmetic rules; they are not generated by an AI model when you enter your values.

Automated checks cover calculation examples, invalid inputs, rounding, date boundaries, and clock changes. Browser checks exercise the tools and their shared links. These checks help catch regressions but do not establish professional certification or guarantee an error-free result. The methodology page explains the rules, references, and known limits.

Privacy and funding

Calculations run on your device. Saving a preset stores it in your browser; sharing a calculation link exposes the values included in that link. Optional analytics and advertising are described separately in the privacy policy.

TrueHour is intended to be supported by advertising. Any advertising is labeled and placed separately from calculator controls and results. Partner links, if enabled, carry a commission disclosure. Payment by an advertiser does not change the arithmetic.
